When I had my first baby, I had no idea how to breastfeed.
No one prepares you for the pressure of suddenly becoming another human being’s sole source of nourishment.
In those early days, my mother brought me a herbal blend she had made at home. She loosely remembered the ingredients from the one her own mother prepared for her after the birth of each of her four children.
That’s how these rituals survive, passed quietly from one generation of women to the next.
It supported me deeply through postpartum, helping with milk supply, digestion, and the feeling of being held through a season that can otherwise feel overwhelming.
